Reporting to the Sales Engineering Manager, the Sales Engineer is responsible for the following:
- Identify, qualify, design, develop, present and assist the pre-sales efforts of the IPT Services Sales Team
- Design and drive technical presentations with customers resulting in closed sales opportunities
- Perform as the lead technical member of account/sales team
- Assist in development and delivery of training sessions to the direct sales and technical teams
- Analyze needs of the Sales team and create supporting documentation or tools to better equip the team in the sales process
- Share knowledge and experience to enhance the technical capabilities of peers
- Achieve mastery (Technical, Product, Competitive, Industry knowledge and Sales Acumen) of Verizons VoIP service and product offerings.
- Typically requires BS/BA degree or equivalent plus 3-6 years experience in the design and implementation of Voice-over-IP Telephony related technology.
- Background (Avaya, Nortel or Cisco) with professional level certifications on at least one major IP PBX Manufacturers product set. Legacy TDM/PSTN-LEC knowledge and experience in Centrex and PRI/T1 voice services and trunking. Knowledge in IP suite of protocols including QoS, Security and routing as they relate to IP enabled voice solutions. Experience in designing/selling solutions for enterprise customers. Strong presentation skills to mid/upper level technical management within customer organizations.

- Exceptional knowledge of the network services market focusing on network and premise IP PBX and hosted IP Centrex services
- Experience with multi-site configurations and hybrid (IP & TDM) environments with more than 1000 end-points, in a consulting or large system administration role. Fortune 1000 companies experience preferred. Preferred Experience/Education: BS Degree in engineering or Information Technology or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Posses, or the ability to acquire,VoIP and industry technical certifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (technical documentation and client communication)
- Well-established track record of delivering on developed strategies and specific objectives on time and at budget
- Experience leading and/or participating on cross-functional teams to win new business and grow market share Must have one or more of the following certifications or demonstrated equivalent knowledge: Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) Either Internetworking or Voice Track Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP)
- Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) Avaya ACE or equivalent PBX certification
